April 4, 2025.

Denver singer/songwriter Cipriano Ortega is releasing his debut LP album, “Lo Lo House”!

Performing under his first name only, Cipriano describes his sound as “low rock blues” which is characterized by minimal instrumentation combining blues, jazz and rock.

He plays two-string slide bass on the album and sings, delivering lyrics in a low crooning voice, inspired by blues players such as Son House, Albert King and Bo Diddley. The songs delve into themes of escapism and relationships and the idea of embracing life’s lows while confronting challenges directly. Tracks that invoke the fun and energy of nightlife are also sprinkled throughout.

Available Friday April 4, 2025

“Once I felt embraced by and connected to the blues as a genre and a state of mind, I knew that my time in Breckenridge was right for making this album.” - Cipriano Ortega

The songs on “Lo Lo House” were penned partially at Ortega’s home on the Northside of Denver and completed in the summer of 2024 during his 3- month artist residency in Breckenridge, CO.

Armed with only his bass, record albums and time, he lived solo in the historic Robert Whyte house beneath a peaceful mountain backdrop, seeking inspiration in the isolation. As an Indigenous Person of Color, he contemplated his ancestry and connected to the land. He also immersed himself into researching blues music to further inform and shape his vision.
